Tories Election Expenses Scandal
Given the potential seriousness of the allegations made by Channel 4 about criminality and electoral fraud at the last election, I would have expected this to be the lead item for nearly all papers and news sites? Doesn't look like its been given too much prominence so far.

MPs could be criminally prosecuted, barred from holding public office and up to 29 by-elections might need to be called in key marginal seats. That's before you get to the Tories deliberately misleading the Electoral Commission and being taken to Court as a result.

I accept that this is all worse case scenario and nothing has been proved as yet, but surely this is one of the biggest stories for some time? Not least because of the Anti-corruption conference Cameron is fronting and his overheard comments about corruption in Nigeria and Afghanistan. It looks like he's up to his neck in it and that the Tories broke the law in buying the last election. Might explain why the polls were so wrong.

Good work by Channel 4:

'Gleeful'? I'm disgusted that one of your lot can get accused of being a nonce and walks out of court a free man with the aid of 'the establishment', sickening.

Ray what an odd person you are. You are almost gleeful that someone has committed child abuse which is a disgusting crime.

Actually kiork the snp labour and lib dems are all being investigated too. I understand you've got an anti Tory bias in life but they are the facts.

Electoral fraud has been brushed under the carpet by the main media and ch4 kept this going.
Politicians need to be held to account. They say almost everyone else in public life is a model or an example to follow, why not them?
They broke the rules and it is fraud. Unfortunately the majority of them got away with it when they fiddled their expenses. Hope they get caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law this time.
If all parties did it, all parties should be investigated. But by the sound of it, only one party actively fiddled their financial records to cover it up.
Says something about the chief political correspondent at the BBC that she still hasn't bothered pursuing this but goes after Corbyn on whatever whim takes her fancy. (There are plenty of reasons to pursue Corbyn on policy grounds but odd how she never goes after Gideon, Dave and co...)

Oh look, for the 125th consecutive time, comma is pretending to be fishing when caught out making a cunt of himself.

Either that or he thinks he can have a deliberate snipe under the cover of a fishing expedition.

In either case, he's an arsehole.

The use of battle buses by the conservatives labour lib dems and snp does need to be clarified for the next election.

It's not a scandal or fraud. Everyone saw the battle buses. It's not like the activists were shipped in secretly. People were falling over themselves on Twitter everytime a bus came to visit.

There is no contradiction between 'they can throw the key away' and 'it's trifling'. First you have take take into consideration my attitude to politicians.

And, I may be wrong, but I don't think I ever called it 'trifling', did I? 'Relatively trivial' in a direct response to a comparison with corruption in Nigerian elections is what I remember.

Not like you to make stuff up, mate.

Wrong again Surfy.

I think it's all fraud. There's a hint of double standards in the way you think it's trifling until Labour are involved and then you're all for throwing away the key.

I think if a bit of over spending on buses stops you beating the worst group of politicians ever to represent the Conservatives (worse even that Major's bunch of fuckwits) then you should probably keep quiet about it.

It's like losing to a football team consisting exclusively of Downsers and complaining because one of them was not registered properly.

And all conservatives are nothing if not ideological Downsers.
